Each month, the Mayneliner features articles by Allen Slade highlighting the ongoing work of the Mayne Island Lions Club. Together, these pieces offer a clear and engaging snapshot of the Club’s recent activities, community contributions, and local impact.



June 2026: discusses the BBQ dinners at all baseball games this summer and at the ParticipACTION kickoff June 6. Also discussed is a few programs on Mayne recently funded by the MI Lions Club.



May 2026: discusses the Lions new BBQ and some upcoming events where it will be in use. Also discussed is the directory distribution and an update on some recent events like the Easter Bingo.





April 2026: discusses the structure of MI Lions with a feature on Alan Guy, Past President and Past District Governor; also covers ongoing Lions activities, including preparing for a busy rental season!


March 2026: discusses the MI Lions Club website, rentals for events, and the support MI Lions give to Lions Foundation of Canada Guide Dog Program.

December 2025: includes a recap of the Lions Charter night dinner and dance, a preview of the upcoming Santa Ships, and more.




November 2025: includes an update on planning for the busy Christmas season, ongoing work towards a new Mayne Directory coming in 2026 and a recap of a visit from District Chair John Rumsby.

February 2025: includes some information about the Lions Foundation of Canada Guide Dogs (MI Lions Club helps support this foundation) and a recap of some of the many thank you letters received for Lions efforts in the previous year.

December 2024: includes some history of the Santa Ship that visits the Southern Gulf Islands, a tradition that the Mayne Island Lions continue each year.
